Darlings Welcome. Just discovered one of the funniest five minutes on the net, www.dudestudio.com, a five-minute short of the first Star Wars in which every character is named 'Dude'. Wild flash animation and Luke Skywalker, mmm, even at one inch high…anyway on with what's forthcoming...

The end of July sees the ICA (London) play host to a series of recommended events presented by Mannafest called 'Headrush'. Friday 28 July @ 7.30pm sees a discussion, 'Neomedia Whores', circling round the question of whether the Internet empowers or pimps culture? This will be followed by the usual array of bar side DJs and visuals until 1am. Saturday 29 July @ 8pm sees a night of multimedia performance, 'Space 4'OM', featuring untold reputable guests including Mark Gilmore, Kodwo Eshun and Attica Blues. Leave your Sid Vicious T-shirt at home for this one kids. For further details check: www.mannafest.net.

Until the end of July you will be able to catch an exhibition called 'Improperganda' at the Proud Galleries (London). The gallery presents a series of photos illustrating the media manipulation of photos used in the realms of advertising and for all those photoshop kids, will provide endless ideas for your next birthday card to your dearest and nearest.

Hoxton has just seen another addition to the endless possibilities of after dark activity, well 333, in the form of 'Plastic People'. I was fortunate enough to check the Finnish data jockey Vladislav Delay, followed by Andy Weatherhall spinning a selection of liquid electronic street funk. Whilst the 'Shoreditch Twat' will probably have something to say about the clientele, the venue is clean and at just a stumble from 'The Pool', will be a hit with locals and tourists alike.

The inter_media scene explodes in Berlin (Germany) at 'z2000' between 15 July and 20 August 2000. With representatives brought together from acorss Europe, and all the creative disciplines, to exchange views and opinions - your generative juices will surely flow at this one baby. Check www.z2000.de for further details.

Until next month, Kimura x.

Details of forthcoming events for reportage within this section can be mailed to kimura@folkdevil.com
